Aims & Scope
Publisher: PocketGull LLC, Portland, OR, USA
1. Core Mission & Epistemic Demarcation
The PocketGull Journal of Salutogenic Medicine & Systems Biology is a peer-reviewed, Diamond Open-Access continuous scholarly serial dedicated to empirical systems biology, quantitative metabolic modeling, and salutogenesis (the biological origins and active creation of health).
In accordance with the Three Acts Clinical Reality Standard, the Journal requires all accepted manuscripts, clinical condition guides, and trial protocols to maintain rigorous epistemic demarcation: peer-reviewed neurobiology and empirical human clinical trials must be systematically demarcated from exploratory in silico simulation models.
2. Scope of Published Works
- Original Clinical Investigations & In Silico Trials: Bayesian adaptive clinical trial protocols (e.g. Trial ISSM-AD01), stopping boundaries, and interim analyses.
- Quantitative Systems Biology: Multi-paradigm metabolic networks, astrocytic aquaporin-4 glymphatic fluid dynamics, mitochondrial bioenergetics, and autonomic vagal tone pacing (0.10 Hz Mayer resonance).
- Clinical Typography & Optotypic Safety: Visual ergonomics, slashed-zero medication safety, and Louise Sloan optotype design minimizing ICU medication misreadings.
- Health Economics & Generic Posology: Transparent generic drug price benchmarking ($4–$10 retail generic shields) and stepped-care clinical decision architectures.
- Open Biomedical Informatics: HL7 FHIR R4 clinical cohort serialization, SMART-on-FHIR specifications, and HIPAA § 164.514 Safe Harbor de-identification models.
3. Frequency & Diamond Open Access Model
The Journal operates on a continuous publication model. Accepted monographs are published online immediately upon completion of peer review and copyediting, and aggregated sequentially into quarterly numbered issues (Volume 1, 2026).
Diamond Open Access: The Journal charges zero article processing charges (APCs) and zero submission fees to authors, and all published content is freely available to readers worldwide under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) license. All operational costs are permanently underwritten by PocketGull LLC.
